Students seeking a BFA degree must submit a portfolio for entry into the program. Please follow the guidelines and requirements for developing and submitting your entrance portfolio for admission to the BFA program in Studio Art or Graphic Design at North Central College.
The entrance portfolio is a requirement for admission into the BFA program and needs to be submitted by the end of the applicant’s sophomore year or upon transfer. Since it is a recently launched program, there are some exceptions, and you may still submit beyond your sophomore year.

The Dyson Wellness Center is calling for nature-themed art to refresh their space! 2D artwork is preferred, but 3D pieces will be considered. Submit through the google form.

Marlon Tobias is a New York born multi-disciplinary artist whose work is informed by the historical relationship between the communities he represents and the spaces they’ve inhabited.
Through an archival and ethnographical lens, Marlon explores themes of erasure, the Black, rural southern tradition, the intersections of spirituality, religion, and place, domesticity, and the complexities within a family and community.
WHEN: Professor Shannon will leave from the Naperville Metra Station at 10:15am: return home on your own schedule
IMPORTANT:
• Students should purchase their own Metra tickets
• Bring your NCC Student ID for free admission to the museum
• Professor Shannon will give a gallery talk in the North Sculpture Garden at 1:00 pm and 2:40 pm (optional)

The Art & Design Department invites you to get together to enjoy some pizza and hear about peer research, and information about the Art and Design Department courses next year.
The field trip is open to all NCC students with valid Illinois ID. There is no advanced RSVP required, but students who plan to attend should meet Professor Sage at Meiley Swallow Hall at 10:50 am OR at the Naperville Metra Station at 11 am.
Admission to the museum is free for Illinois residents, but students need to bring money for Metra fare and lunch in Downtown Chicago. There are NO LARGE BAGS allowed inside the MCA, so pack lightly.

North Central College Art and Design students, please join the department faculty for a field trip to the 1871 Innovation Hub. 1871 is a non-profit digital startup incubator located in the Merchandise Mart, Chicago. 1871 has become a significant hub of Chicago's technology and entrepreneurial ecosystem and hosts over 200 companies and nationally recognized accelerators, industry-specific incubators, and tech talent schools.
Trip itinerary:
9:15 am: Metra train leaves Naperville (arrive at 10:31 am at Union Station). Walk to Merchandise Mart
11 am: a tour of 1871
11:45 pm: career advice talks by the industry
Lunch break (to attend afternoon classes, you can take the train back to Naperville at 12:33, 1:33, or 2:30)
1:30 pm: visit design studios downtown
4:00, 4:30, 4:50, 5:00 pm Express trains: Return for evening classes
