Whitney's artistic practice which focuses on architecture as language to discuss the history of and current challenges facing Rust Belt cities and the hotly contested visions for their future. While her practice is rooted in personal experience as a Midwesterner, her work seeks to appeal to many through notions of home, loss, hope and the protective impulse that we share for the places we love.

Whitney's work has been exhibited at the Painting Center, Superfront LA, UICA, the Mildred Lane Kemper Art Museum, and the Muskegon Museum of Art.
