About: Kendal Franklin is a senior graphic designer earning a BFA at North Central College in Naperville, Illinois. Her work is rooted in inspiring kindness, joy, and positive energy. Kendal’s practice embraces a tastefully maximalist style, balancing color, symbolism, and layered detail with strong design principles of legibility and space. She has attained multiple graphic design and marketing roles on campus for various clubs. Throughout all of these endeavors, she draws inspiration from her childhood, nature, and vintage aesthetics. Storytelling through visual media is also supplemented by her photography skills. Her work for North Central Markets carries a whimsical, nostalgic, and collage-like quality and has strengthened the college craft community. As an intern, Kendal often works as a jack-of-all-trades. She recently helped kickstart a brand new coffee shop business in Joliet, IL. There she experimented with 2D and 3D formats in order to successfully craft a brand. Kendal values intuitive creation and believes imperfection is part of the creative process. With a strong desire to continually grow and impact others, she aspires to teach art and design to students at the college level.
